Who Can Register for WBJEE Round 2 Counselling?

Round 2 is open to more than one category of candidate:

Candidates who accepted a Round 1 seat under “Upgradation Yes”: They keep their current seat but can revise their choice list to try for a better college or branch in Round 2.

Candidates who did not get any seat in Round 1: They can register afresh and fill choices during the July 13-17 window without paying an additional counselling registration fee, since this fee is charged only once per counselling cycle.

Candidates who did not register at all for Round 1: Fresh registration is accepted in Round 2, provided they hold a valid WBJEE 2026 rank (General Merit Rank or Category Merit Rank) or a valid JEE Main 2026 score for the applicable quota.

Candidates who accepted their Round 1 seat as “Freeze” (final, no upgradation) are generally not required to participate further, as their admission is already confirmed. Eligibility for WBJEE Counselling 2026

Candidates must hold a valid WBJEE 2026 General Merit Rank (GMR) or Category Merit Rank (CMR) to apply for both State Quota and All India Quota seats.

Candidates with a valid JEE Main 2026 score but no WBJEE 2026 rank can apply only for the All India Quota seats reserved for JEE Main candidates in self-financing institutes. WBJEE Counselling 2026 Fee Details

How to Register and Fill Choices for WBJEE Round 2

Go to the official website, wbjeeb.nic.in, and open the Candidate Activity Board.

Log in using your WBJEE 2026 application number and date of birth (or password, as applicable to your registration status).

If registering fresh for Round 2, complete your registration and verify your personal and academic details.

Open the Choice Filling section and browse available colleges by district, institute, or branch. Use the seat matrix to check seat availability before finalising choices.

Add or reorder college-and-course combinations in your order of preference. Candidates already holding a Round 1 seat under “Upgradation Yes” can revise this list to aim for a better option.

Fill a wide range of choices – WBJEEB advises filling at least 15-20 choices, spread across different institutes and branches, to improve your chances of allotment.

Review your final preference order carefully and lock your choices before the Round 2 deadline of July 17, 2026. Choices not locked in time may be auto-locked by the system based on the last saved list, but candidates should not rely on this and should lock manually well before the deadline.

WBJEE Round 2 Seat Allotment and Acceptance Process

The Round 2 seat allotment result will be published on July 21, 2026, on the WBJEEB portal. No allotment letters are sent by post or courier.

If allotted a seat, you must choose one of the standard options – accept and freeze the seat, accept and opt for further upgradation, or take no action (which results in forfeiture of the seat for the current cycle).

To confirm the seat, pay the ₹5,000 seat acceptance fee online within the July 21-23, 2026 window.

After paying the fee, report in person to the allotted institute within the same window for physical document verification.

If a candidate already holding a Round 1 seat is allotted a better option in Round 2, the Round 1 seat is automatically vacated in favour of the new Round 2 allotment.

Admit card of WBJEE 2026

Class 10 admit card or birth certificate (for date of birth proof)

Class 12 / HS mark sheet and pass certificate

Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/EWS), issued by the competent authority, if applicable

West Bengal domicile or residential certificate, where applicable for state-quota seats

PwD certificate from an authorised medical board, if applicable

Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) certificate, if applicable
