As per G.O.Ms.No.86, G.A.(Ser.A) Department, Dt. 18/05/2026, the upper age limit has been raised by 10 years – from 34 years to 44 years. The examination is tentatively scheduled for September 2026. Eligibility Criteria & Job Requirements
Educational Qualification
- Option 1: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil / Mechanical / Chemical / Bio-Technology / Mining / Environmental Engineering from a recognized University in India (established under Central/Provincial/State Act or recognized by UGC), OR qualified in Section A and B of AMIE (India) Civil Examination.
- Option 2: B.Tech / B.E. in any branch with a Post Graduate Degree in Environmental Engineering from a recognized University in India (established under Central/Provincial/State Act or recognized by UGC), OR qualified in Section A and B of AMIE (India) Civil Examination.
- Distance Education: Degrees obtained through Open Universities / Distance Education mode must be recognized by UGC / AICTE / Distance Education Bureau. The onus of proof rests with the applicant.
- Qualification Date: The result of the required qualification must have been declared by the University as on the date of Notification i.e., June 2, 2026.
Age Limit & Relaxations
Age Limit (as on 01/07/2026): Minimum 18 years and Maximum 44 years.
Note: As per G.O.Ms.No.86, G.A.(Ser.A) Department, Dt. 18/05/2026, the upper age limit has been raised by 10 years (from 34 to 44 years).
Note: No person shall be eligible if they are at superannuation age after availing eligible age relaxations as on 01/07/2026. Employees of Corporations, Municipalities, etc., are not eligible for Government Employee age relaxation.
TGPSC Selection Methodology
- Written Examination (Objective Type): The exam will be held either in OMR-based Offline mode or Computer Based Recruitment Test (CBRT) mode. The Commission will notify the mode through web note / press note and Hall Ticket.
- Paper I – General Studies and General Abilities: 150 Questions | 150 Marks | 150 Minutes | Bilingual (English and Telugu).
- Paper II – Concerned Subject (Environmental Engineering): 150 Questions | 300 Marks | 150 Minutes | English Only.
- Total Marks: 450 Marks.
- Qualifying Marks: OC / Sportspersons / EWS – minimum 40%; BCs – minimum 35%; SCs / STs / PwD – minimum 30%.
- Normalization: For CBRT conducted in multiple sessions, scores will be normalized and results announced on percentile basis.
- Tie-Breaking Order: Local status (Telangana locals first) → Date of Birth (older gets priority) → Marks in subject paper → Date of passing qualifying exam → Percentage in qualifying exam → Higher qualification → Date/percentage of higher qualification.
- Key Publication & Objections: Provisional key published after exam; candidates can raise objections online by paying ₹500/- per question. Genuine objections reimbursed. Final key is conclusive.
- Memorandum of Marks: Available via online payment of ₹200/- within 30 days of result publication. No revaluation entertained.

- If applying for the first time, complete One Time Registration (OTR) to obtain a TGPSC ID. Note: OTR alone does not constitute an application.
- Login using your TGPSC ID and Date of Birth, and enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number.
- Verify details fetched from OTR – Name, Date of Birth, Educational Qualifications, Community, Gender, Disability, Ex-Servicemen status, Sports, etc.
- Select your preferred examination centre from the available options.
- Upload a recent passport-size colour photograph (not older than 3 months; File size: 100KB–200KB) and scanned specimen signature (File size: 20KB–30KB) in JPG/PNG format.
- Preview the application carefully, then click SAVE & PAYMENT to proceed to fee payment.
- Pay the prescribed fee online through Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card, or UPI.
- After payment, a PDF application will be generated. Download and retain the PDF. Note your Reference ID Number for future correspondence.
