Why BSSC Called More Candidates Than Vacancies
This section explains the reasoning behind inviting extra candidates beyond the number of available posts, which is a standard BSSC practice to safeguard against shortfalls.
BSSC noted that during document scrutiny, some candidates may be absent, may show a biometric or iris mismatch, or may fail to submit required certificates. To account for this and to manage category-wise changes (such as reservation quota, divyangta/disability category, or freedom fighter dependent category), the Commission decided to call candidates equal to 1.2 times the category-wise vacancies. As a result, against 238 total posts, 286 candidates have been invited for verification. The notice clarifies that these candidates are listed not in merit order but in ascending order of roll number, from left to right.

How Biometric and IRIS Verification Works Before Document Scrutiny
This section explains the verification process candidates undergo before their certificates are physically checked.
Before document scrutiny begins, BSSC will first match each candidate’s IRIS and Facial Recognition / biometric data against the data captured during the preliminary and mains examinations. Only after this biometric match is confirmed will the document scrutiny process proceed. If any discrepancy is found in the IRIS, facial recognition, or biometric match, the Commission is free to take appropriate legal action against the concerned candidate.
