(i) Both the question papers will be of the objective type (multiple choice question).
(ii) The General Studies Paper-II of the MCSCC (Preliminary) Examination will be a
qualifying paper with minimum qualifying marks fixed at 33%.
(iii) The question papers will be set in English only.
(iv) Each paper will be of a two-hour duration. Blind candidates and the candidates with Locomotor Disability and Cerebral Palsy where the dominant (writing) extremity is affected to the extent of slowing the performance of function (Minimum of 40% impairment) will; however, be allowed an extra time of twenty minutes per hour for each paper.

(i) The question papers for the examination will be of conventional (Essay) type.
(ii) Each Paper will be three hours in duration.
(iii) Candidates will have to answer all the question papers in English.
(iv) The question papers will be set in English only
(v) Candidate should note that if any irrelevant matter/ signage/ marks etc are found
written in the answer script which would not be related to any question/ answer and/ or would be having the potential to disclose the candidate’s identity, the Commission would impose a penalty of deduction of marks from the total marks otherwise accruing to the candidate or will not evaluate the set answer script(s) on this account.
Negative Marking
(i) There are four alternatives for the answers to every question in the Manipur PSC Civil Services Prelims Exam. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidates, one-third (0.33) of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as a penalty.
(ii) If a candidate gives more than one answer, it will be treated as a wrong answer even if one of the given answers happens to be correct and there will be the same penalty as above for the question.
(iii) If a question is left blank i.e. no answer is given by the candidate, there will be no penalty for the question.
