NAT Board Research Associate Recruitment 2026 Overview

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, established to conduct postgraduate examinations of high standards in the field of modern medicine at the national level. NBEMS has invited applications from eligible candidates for 30 Research Associate posts on a contract basis vide advertisement No. A-12017/3/2025-Estb-Part(1) dated 01.07.2026.

Candidates are advised to reach the venue well before the reporting time, since late arrivals may not be permitted for document verification and interaction.

NBEMS Research Associate Vacancy Details 2026

NBEMS has notified 30 posts of Research Associate-I and Research Associate-II across 12 different profiles. The post-wise vacancy break-up, remuneration, and age limit are given below.

Of these, the Research Associate-I (Medical) post carries the highest number of vacancies at 12, with reservation of UR-05, OBC-03, SC-02, ST-01 and EWS-01 as per the official notification.

NBEMS Research Associate Eligibility Criteria 2026

Eligibility for NBEMS Research Associate Recruitment 2026 varies post-wise and is based on educational qualification, relevant certifications, and post-qualification work experience. Candidates should check the specific requirements for the post they intend to apply for below.

Educational Qualification (Post-wise)

Age Limit and Age Relaxation

• Research Associate-I posts: upper age limit of 40 years
• Research Associate-II posts (Finance & Accounts and Cyber Security): upper age limit of 45 years
• A 5-year age relaxation is given to candidates having a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Examination Institutes
• Reservation for PwBD candidates is applicable as per extant Government of India rules
• Age, educational qualification, and experience are reckoned as on the date of publication of the advertisement in the Employment Newspaper

NBEMS Research Associate Salary / Pay Scale 2026

Selected candidates will receive a lump-sum monthly consolidated remuneration as below, with statutory deductions made as applicable. No DA, HRA, or other government allowances apply, since these are contractual, non-regular positions.

• Research Associate-I posts: ₹50,000/- per month (consolidated)
• Research Associate-II posts (Finance & Accounts, Cyber Security): ₹95,000/- per month (consolidated)
• Annual increment: up to 5% of remuneration as a ceiling, on satisfactory completion of one year, subject to a case-by-case performance review

Maximum Duration of Engagement

Extension in each case is subject to the continued requirement of the post at NBEMS and satisfactory performance evaluation by the reporting officer and Head of the Department. The engagement does not confer any right to regularization or permanent absorption.

NBEMS Research Associate Selection Process 2026

2. Screening and interaction conducted by an Interaction Panel, at the panel’s discretion
3. NBEMS reserves the right to hold a written examination or fix its own additional criteria for shortlisting candidates
4. Candidates found ineligible at any stage will have their candidature cancelled

The decision of NBEMS in all matters relating to eligibility, scrutiny, and selection is final and binding on candidates.

Candidates must carry the duly filled application form along with original documents and photocopies in support of:

• Date of birth (age proof)
• Educational qualification certificates and mark sheets (10th, 12th, Graduation, Post-Graduation, professional qualification)
• Caste/category certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD), where applicable
• Experience certificates from current and past employers
• Relevant professional certifications, if claimed
• A recent passport-size photograph (to be pasted on the application form)
• Valid photo identity proof

1. Download the official notification and the prescribed application form from the NBEMS official website, natboard.edu.in.
2. Fill the application form in your own handwriting, in capital letters (except for the signature), on A4 size paper.
3. Paste a recent passport-size photograph on the form and sign it.
4. Attach self-attested copies of all educational, experience, category, and age-proof documents.
5. Report at the NBEMS Office, Sector-9, Opposite Dwarka District Court, Dwarka, New Delhi – 110075 (nearest Metro station: Dwarka Sector 10) by 12:00 Noon on the date scheduled for your post.
6. Carry all original documents for on-the-spot verification along with the filled application form.

Important Instructions for Candidates

• Applications with false, tampered, or fabricated information will lead to cancellation of candidature at any stage.
• Incomplete applications, or those not meeting the eligibility criteria, will be rejected.

• NBEMS reserves the right to cancel the recruitment process, wholly or partly, at any stage without assigning any reason.

• The contract is temporary in nature and can be terminated by either side with one month’s notice, without assigning any reason.
• Candidates should not have any pending criminal or departmental inquiry against them.
• In case of any discrepancy between the Hindi and English versions of the advertisement, the English version will prevail.
