- Candidates whose M.Sc. degree is in a subject other than what is specified for each respective Division (e.g., a Chemistry M.Sc. holder should NOT apply for the Ballistics Division post).
- Candidates who obtained their degree from an institution not established by law in India or not recognized by the Government.
- Candidates from other states applying under reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/MBC/EWS) – such candidates are treated as General/UR for fee and reservation purposes.

Common mistakes / What to check before applying RPSC Senior Scientific Officer Recruitment 2026?
- Applying for the wrong Division post (e.g., applying for Physics Division with a Chemistry background) – ensure your M.Sc. subject matches the specific post requirements exactly.
- Not completing OTR (One Time Registration) on the SSO Portal before applying – without OTR, the online application cannot be submitted.
- Entering incorrect details in OTR (name, father’s name, date of birth, gender) – these cannot be changed in the OTR and a mismatch with Aadhaar/documents can lead to disqualification.
- Uploading blurred or incorrectly sized photograph or signature – causing rejection at the scrutiny stage.
- Not noting the Application Form Number (Application No.) after submission – if this is not received, it means the application was not successfully submitted.
- Applying under the wrong category (e.g., OBC Creamy Layer applying as OBC Non-Creamy Layer) – category change is not permitted after submission and mismatch leads to cancellation.
- Candidates from outside Rajasthan claiming SC/ST/OBC/EWS reservation – out-of-state candidates are treated as General/UR for all purposes.
- Submitting the online application after the deadline of 10-07-2026 midnight – the portal will close exactly at 12:00 midnight and no extension will be granted.
- Not keeping the registered mobile number and email ID active – call letters, interview notifications, and all further communication will be sent only to these registered contacts.
- Ignoring negative marking: one-third marks are deducted per wrong answer and one-third are deducted if no circle is darkened – over-attempting without knowing the answer can lower your score.
